My experience with Pilchuck Tree Service: We had a number of problem trees on our property. A couple of tall, leaning alders which, if they had come down on their own, would have destroyed our cabin. A few leaners completely covered in ivy that were ready to fall and numerous others. All were in an area that couldn’t be accessed by heavy equipment. I made a few calls, got a few bids. I decided on Pilchuck Tree Service because Chad seemed to be the most confident and experienced guy that came out to look. The offer he made me was that he would come out with his crew for two days at a set price. They would start with the two trees leaning over the cabin and then get as much done as they could in the remaining time. To be honest, I was very apprehensive about this arrangement. Having never done business with Chad before, I didn’t know if I was paying for just two trees, five trees or more. But I needed the work done so I agreed to it. I’m old. I’ve delt with many contractors over the years. I’ve been disappointed, lied to and ripped off many times. Chad and his crew (Greg and Josh) restored my faith in humans. These guys were amazing. The cliché “Above and Beyond” doesn’t begin to cover it. They showed up on time and got right to work, They were all very friendly, hardworking, and wasted no time. The two main problem trees were on the ground and bucked into firewood in less than tree hours with no damage to the cabin. They were able to rig ropes and pulleys through the woods, past the cabin and across a stream to cut down three ivy covered trees and drag them exactly where I wanted them. That was all on the first day. The next day was just as good. They took out another five trees, including a tall dead standing one and a huge dangerous cottonwood. They laid that monster precisely where it needed to be. My only job was to stay out of the way. Hate to brag, but I did pretty good. I give myself 4 stars. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Chad and his crew for the most difficult tree removal. Professional, confident, experienced. Safety conscious and friendly. I hired Pilchuck Tree Service to trim back multiple trees on all sides of my property, including trees shared with a neighbor (with their blessing, of course). The trees have been growing out of control for at least the past dozen years (and probably much longer) and many, it appears, have literally never been trimmed. The communication throughout the process was excellent, from the very first contact to the last. They showed up as scheduled and on time, were very professional, did a stunning job, and were meticulous in their cleanup. (That last is something I'm very picky about and this is one of just a couple of contractors that met my very high standards in this area.) They even agreed to remove a dead and leaning tree from a green belt across the street, something that was not included in the original contract. They worked hard throughout the day and completed the work on time. The difference is amazing, really opening up the space, returning sunlight that had been missing, and guaranteeing that future yard and tree maintenance will be significantly easier.
